Wills, a life long Carroll county resident, passed away at 11 o'clock this morniing at the hospital here. She had been seriously ill since September and on two occasions had been a patient in the hospital. She also took treatments in a hospital at Rochester, Mn. Read More	Ida was the daughter of James Wills and Eliza Bowden. Feb 10, 1936 - Carroll Daily Herald - Miss Ida J. Wills, a life long Carroll county resident, passed away at 11 o'clock this morniing at the hospital here. She had been seriously ill since September and on two occasions had been a patient in the hospital. She also took treatments in a hospital at Rochester, Mn. After being treated here and in Rochester, she was thought to be slowly gaining strength and was cared for at the home of her sister, Mrs. E. Walter Rogers on North Adams street. But her condition did not improve and six weeks ago she was again taken to the hospital, where she had been since. The body is at the Huffman Funeral home awaiting funeral arrangments. Miss Wills was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs James Wills, pioneer Carroll county residents. She was born on March 7, 1881, shortly after her parents had settled in this community. The Wills family at first lived on a farm located 8 miles southwest of Carroll. Here Miss Wills attended the rural schools. When she grew to womanhood, she attended Simpson College in Indianola. In later years, the Wills family moved to a farm tour miles west and two miles south of Carroll. Here they lived for a number of years and then retired to a home in Carroll. Miss Wills kept house for her brother, the late William J. Wills, who passed away in November, 1929. She and her brother lived on the home place. Her parents have both proceded her in death. After her brother's death, Miss Wills came to Carroll and made her home with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. Walter Rogers. Miss Wills took an active interest in ail civic and church affairs. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, the Eastern Star, and Central Rebekah lodges. She took an active part in the work of all the church missionary socicties. Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Rogers (Harriet) and Thomas Wills, who resides on the home place.
