She passed away at the Griffin Care Center, Knoxville, IA on September 5, 1981. Ida Freeman grew to adulthood at Pleasantville and taught school in the country schools in Marion County. She was married November 17, 1911 to Forest Allen Moore in Des Moines. Ten sons and two daughters were born to this union. She served as a pastor’s wife in many communities in Iowa as her husband served United Methodist churches in the Attica, Reasnor, Sonora Circuit, the Troy, Eddyville, Knoxville, Columbia Circuit, the Amish Circuit, Sheridan, as well as the Hartwick Congregational Church. In 1951 Rev. and Mrs. Moore moved to Knoxville when her husband retired from the ministry, and later to Dallas, IA. Following the death of her husband Forest on February 28, 1961, she lived with her son Donald in Knoxville as long as health would permit. Mrs. Moore was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville, the United Methodist Women, and the Martha Circle. Preceding Mrs. Moore in death was her husband, three sons (Robert, John Paul, and Norman), three sisters, and two brothers. Mourning her death are seven sons and two daughters: Howard (Hermann, MO), Donald (Knoxville), Forest Alleyne (Des Moines), Harold (Grundy Center), Raymond (Sigourney), Edwin (Platteville, WI), Lester (Ames), Priscilla Strohbehn (Reinbeck), and Lucille Butcher (Des Moines); her 39 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; her sister Mrs. Eveline Giles, (North Bend, OR), other relatives, and many friends.
