Perrine officiating and with burial in the Oakwood cemetery at Stratford. Idella Koch, daughter of William and Mary Jane Campbell Koch, was born Sept. 26, 1881, on a farm near Webster City. She was reared and educated in the Webster City community. She was united in marriage in 1901 to Jesse T. Frakes, and the couple made their home on a farm south of Woolstock. They farmed in Wright and Hamilton counties for several years. Six children were born to this union: Mrs. Leslie (Marie) Harris, Independence, Mrs. Franklin (Katherine) Crawford, Webster City, Mrs. Peter (Hazel) Claude, Williams, Mrs. Dick (Mildred) Gabrielson, Stratford, Melvin Frakes of Tucson, Ariz., and Wayne Frakes, who preceded his mother in death. She was united in marriage Oct. 18, 1922 to Joseph W. Layton, and the couple made their home on a farm near Bells Mill. Mr. Layton preceded her in death April 28, 1951. In 1952, Mrs. Layton moved in to Webster City, her home since. In addition to the five children, Mrs. Layton is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Tom (Clara) Madsen, of Webster City, and Mrs. Albert (Jennie) Lehman, Webster City, two step-sons, Frank Layton, Story City, and Harold Layton, Cedar Falls; 22 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Maynard Koch of Mississippi. Mrs. Layton was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, seven grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
