Ina Mae passed away on January 28, 2016 at Windsor Manor in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 84. Ina Mae went to country grade school in Vernon Township, and graduated from Graettinger High School in 1949. On July 7, 1950 Ina Mae was united in marriage to William Voigt. Read More	Ina Mae Luhman was born May 31, 1931, near Graettinger, Iowa, the daughter of William and Edith (Peebles) Luhman. Ina Mae passed away on January 28, 2016 at Windsor Manor in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 84. Ina Mae went to country grade school in Vernon Township, and graduated from Graettinger High School in 1949. On July 7, 1950 Ina Mae was united in marriage to William Voigt. Ina Mae and Bill rented land east of Graettinger where they farmed for two years. In 1952 Bill was drafted into the Army and went to Korea. During Bill's absence, Ina Mae worked at multiple jobs including as a hot lunch cook, in an egg breaking factory, and back on her parents' farm. The couple reunited in Manhattan, Kansas, briefly during Bill's advanced leadership training where they made lifelong friends with other GI families from Iowa. Bill and Mae returned to farming in 1954, after Bill came back from overseas. In 1965, they bought their home farm east of Graettinger where they made their residence and farmed for the remainder of their working lives. During their marriage they were blessed with three children â€“ Jerilyn, Jacquelyn, and Steven. Ina Mae was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed her family more than anything. She loved taking care of her flowers, her Hummel collection, and decorating their home and yard. Every spring Mae waited in anticipation for the return of her beloved wood ducks to the farmstead. Ina Mae especially enjoyed entertaining, travel, and watching her grandchildren grow. She was a tireless worker that family, friends, and neighbors could always count on. Ina Mae was passionate about her church and lived to serve. Ina Mae was a lifelong member of the Graettinger United Methodist Church. During those years she taught Sunday school, served as Sunday school president, and served on almost every church board. She was a member and past president of Naomi Circle and United Methodist Women (UMW). Ina Mae was also a member of the Graettinger Women's Club. Ina Mae is survived by her husband of 65 years Bill; daughters Jeri (David) Kitzinger of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Jackie (George) Underhill of Eagan, Minnesota, and son Steve (Alexandra) of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren Jonathan (Sundree) and Justin (Laura) Kitzinger, Anna and Claire Underhill, William, Matthew, and Lillian Voigt; great grandsons Benjamin and Lukas Kitzinger; sister and brother-in-law Marvis and Richard Duus, brother and sister-in-law Roy and Gerda Luhman, and many nieces and nephews that cherished her as their Aunt Mae. Preceding Ina Mae in death were her parents Bill and Edith, and by her brother Fred Luhman.
