She was one of the nine children of George and Mabel Kindler. She grew up on the family farm and attended country schools near their home. As a young woman she left her parents home to keep house for two of her brothers who farmed nearby. On June 4, 1932 she was married to Harold Thompson in Beloit, Kansas. To them was born one son Kenneth Leroy Thompson. They lived on farms near Esbon until 1946 when they moved south of Guide Rock, Nebraska. Harold farmed in partnership with his brother Claud Thompson who made his home with them for many years. Ina’s family and home were the center of her life. She was especially helpful to friends and relatives when they had sickness or troubles. She wanted to help others but was reluctant to take help from others even when she was ill and needed help. Her grandchildren Darren Thompson, 12, and Michelle Thompson, 10, brought much happiness into her last years and days. She was a loyal and devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her husband, Harold, son, Dr. Kenneth Thompson, Veterinarian, his wife Evelyn and their children all of Guide Rock, Nebraska. She is survived by 3 brothers, Roy, Merley and Harry Kindler of Esbon, Kansas, and 5 sisters, Vera (Mrs. Earl) Silsby, Esbon, Kansas, Iva (Mrs. Dean) Buster, Mankato, Kansas, Donna (Mrs. Eldon) Hoffhines and Estelle (Mrs. Danny) O’Heair of Arkansas City, Kansas and Betty (Mrs. Jadean) Mclndoo, Republican City, Nebraska and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held Friday, May 5 from the United Methodist Church in Guide Rock with Rev. Jack Sample and Rev. Loren Silsby officiating. Pallbearers were: Wendell Ord, Bob Garman, Jim Teachworth, Vaden Lane, Gary Kindler and Melvin Silsby. Burial was in the Esbon, Kansas Cemetery. Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior was in charge.
