Description	:	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 18, 1947 Mrs. Elmer Hull, who with Mr. Hull has resided in their farm home six miles west of Nelson for more than twenty years, died Tuesday evening at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. She ahd been in poor health for some time. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, six sons, two brothers, Kile and Vern Conner of Nelson, and a sister, Mrs. Effie Robb of Arthur, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 o'clock a.m. in the Christian church in Nelson. ================================================================= The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, September 11, 1947 Inez Ella Conner was born in Guthrie County, Iowa, October 11, 1870. At the age of nine years she came with her parents to this part of Nebraska, where she grew to womanhood, and was converted to Christ and united with the Christian church at Mt. Clare, Nebr. She was united in marriage to Charley A. Davis and to this union three children were born, one daughter dieing (sic) in infancy. She was united in marriage to Elmer Hull December 28, 1897, to which union six children were born. She had been ailing for some time and was taken to her son's home at Palmyra for medical care. Then later she was moved to Bryan Memorial Hospital where she passed away September 9, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 2 days. She leaves ta (sic) mourn her passing, her husband, Elmer Hull and 8 children, Mamie Haugh, Duning, Olen Davis, Omaha, Otis Hull, Nelson, Artie Hull, Chester, Cecil Hull, Palmyra, Claude of Nelson, Nebr., Ollie Spredlen of San Francisco, Calif.; Glen Hull, Prudy, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Effie Robb, Arthur, Nebr.; two brothers, Vernon and Kile Conner of Nelson; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was always a devoted and loving mother to her children, a good neighbor with a host of friends. Funeral services was held Saturday, September 13, 10:00 o'clock A.M. in the Christian church, Rev. J.W. Kennedy officiating. Burial in the Superior cemetery. A Mother's Love There is an old legend that runs in this wise: At Creation's dawn an angel came down to earth, and before returning looked about for something to carry back to heaven. There were three things that attracted the attention of the white-winged messenger--a bouquet of sweet flowers that had been gathered from one of the earth's fair and blooming gardens; the smile of a little baby that had been playing with a sunbeam; and a mother's love. These three the angel carried away, but when he reached the pearly gates of paradise the flowers had withered--the baby's smile had vanished. Only the mother's love remained the same, and being found as pure and eternal as the waters that flowed by God's throne, all the angels that ranged about exclaimed in unison: "There is nothing on earth pure enough for heaven but a mother's love. This, was a tribute containing a sublime thought. And through all the ages it has been human experience that the angels referred to in that far away legend were not over-extravagant in the message which they passed out though the open windows of the 'many mansions' along the banks of the "River of Gold."
