Snider at Naper, Neb., last Thursday, September 25, Rev. H.M. Pinckley, pastor of the local M.E. church, performing the ceremony. The happy pair left the same evening for Boulder, Colo., for a short visit with relatives, after which they will be at home to their many friends on the groom's farm north of town. Last year she was an efficient teacher in our public schools and she has a ost of friends here. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Purrington, a young man of sterling quality, and one of our most successful and prosperous farmers. The Times extends congratulations and best wishes. ~~~~~~~ Former Naper Resident Succumbs Mrs. Iona Purrington of Miller, S.D. passed away on November 2 in the Miller Hospital. Burial was in the St. Lawrence, S.D. cemetery. Iona Snider was born Jan. 11, 1895 to Jacob and Lida Snider at Kearney, Nebraska. They lived in Topeka and Kansa City, Kansas until 1903 when they moved to Boyd County, Nebr., where they lived at Lynch, Butte, and Naper. She was graduated from high school at Beemer, Nebr., and Wayne Normal at Wayne, Nebr. She taught school until her marriage to Tracy Purrington in 1919. They farmed near Beemer until 1934 when they moved to a farm near St. Lawrence S.D. After her family was grown, she resumed teaching and taught in the rural schools years. After her retirement, she moved to Miller. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Albert Evans (Lurabel,) Miller, S.D., and Mrs. Wayne (Ellen) Parmley, Wessington, S.D.; two sons, Russell of Arvada, Colo., James, St. Lawrence; a sister, Mrs. Luree Barnes, Naper, a brother, John Snider, LaMesa, Calif.; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
