IONIA WARD BURIED ON TUESDAY Mrs. Ionia Elizabeth Ward, well known matron of the Mariners section, died at her home on Mariners Road Sunday afternoon, following a prolonged illness. She had recently passed her 80th birthday. She was a native of Crisfield, the daughter of the late William and Isadora Ward Rayfield, and had spent her entire life in this community. Mrs. Ward was a member of Mariners Methodist Church, and had been active there as long as her health permitted. IONIA WARD BURIED ON TUESDAY Mrs. Ionia Elizabeth Ward, well known matron of the Mariners section, died at her home on Mariners Road Sunday afternoon, following a prolonged illness. She had recently passed her 80th birthday. She was a native of Crisfield, the daughter of the late William and Isadora Ward Rayfield, and had spent her entire life in this community. Mrs. Ward was a member of Mariners Methodist Church, and had been active there as long as her health permitted. She was a warm hearted lady, always ready to do some one a favor, and in her long life had made many warm friends who held her in the highest esteem and affection. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors, conducted by Rev. John R. Diehl, pastor of Mariners Church. Interment was in the Mariners Cemetery. Bearers were Lon Sterling, Luther Sterling, Earl Sterling, Jesse Evans, Henry Bedsworth, and Will Nelson. Surviving her are two children, Arthur T. Ward of Pasadena, and Mrs. Elizabeth Handy of Crisfield, a sister, Mrs. Eugene McCready of Crisfield, and three grandchildren, Ward Handy of Crisfield, and Miss Dolores Ward and Thomas Ward of Pasadena.
