McCready, died at her home in the Mariners section Tuesday morning, following a prolonged illness. She was nearing her 86th birthday. MCCREADY PASSED AWAY One of the community's prominent and most highly respected matrons, Mrs. Cornelia F. McCready, died at her home in the Mariners section Tuesday morning, following a prolonged illness. She was nearing her 86th birthday. Born in Crisfield Sept. 28th, 1868, she was the daughter of the late William and Isadora Ward Rayfield, and the widow of the late U. G. McCready. Mrs. McCready came from a line of pioneer residents of Somerset and was a gracious woman, motherly and charming. She had devoted her life to husband and family, to helping neighbors and friends in times of misfortune as well as when happy events took place, and had a wide circle of friends who held her in the highest regard and affection. She had for many years been a devoted member of Mariners Methodist Church, taking an active part in church life while her health permitted. She also had a lively interest in community and civic affairs. Funeral services were held yesterday, Thursday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock in the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home here, conducted by the Rev. John R. Diehl, pastor of Mariners Church. Interment was beside her late husband in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Surviving her are three daughters, Miss Dora McCready, Mrs. Lon Sterling, both of Crisfield, and Mrs. Charles Borgman of Tampa, Fla.; one son Walter G. McCready of Glen Burnie, Md., two half-brothers, Clifton Rayfield and Horace Rayfield of Washington, D.C., five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
