Decker, Fred Walton, a brother in law, and three nephews, Zenus Decker, Luther Barnes and Wm Inman. Internment was made in Riverside Cemetery in the Decker family lot. Obituary Ira Freeman Decker, son of James and Martha Decker, was born in Holt County, Missouri on December 30, 1880, and passed away January 4, 1944, enroute to the Imperial Hospital where he was being rushed for treatment. At the age of one year, he moved with his parents to Table Rock, Nebraska. Then in 1885 the lure of the homestead took the family to Decatur County, Kansas where they settled near Kanora. Ira's boyhood days were spent here until he was fourteen, when the family moved to Traer, Kansas, and it was there he grew to manhood. On December 28, 1904 he was united in marriage to Verna E. Walton at Oberlin Kansas. To this union were born five children, four sons and one daughter. One son, Maurice, preceded his father in death on June 9, 1919. Mr. Decker united with the Methodist church when a young man at Traer, Kansas. In 1922 the family moved to Wauneta, where he has since made his home. A lover of the soil, he cast his lot to farming, and even after the family was raised and his son, Charles took over the active duties on the farm, he chose to live in the country and God's wide open spaces.
