He married 1st, on September 7, 1898, Lillian Little; 2nd, in 1931, Julia (Burke) Mahoney; and 3rd, on June 25, 1943, Lillian Whitcomb Dunbar. With Lillian Little he had children Herbert L. who died as a young child, Philip M., and Clyde W. Morse who died as an infant in Lowell, Massachusetts. The top photo is a postal card being sold on E-Bay. This card seem to be the most representative of Morse Museum's mission. The 2nd photo of the right appeared June 30, 1928 in this local newspaper. There was no mention of the opening on the front page nor was there any news inside. The ad to the right appeared in The Plymouth Record on July 7, 1928. There was no article about the museum in the newspaper. THE FOURTH OF JULY Crowds came from all directions to celebrate the fourth in Warren. The day was filled with sports from early morning until the last piece of the big fireworks display was discharged last night. Without question the greatest attraction was the new Morse Museum with its collection of African trophies and curios from many parts of the world. The outside of the building is striking with its rubble stone walls and polished panels surmounted with windows extending all around the building under the eaves. This gives wonderful lighting for the great display room inside, which, however, is none too large for the well arranged collection it holds. Mr Ira C Morse has made good, abundantly, on his promise of a year ago to erect a museum. We predict that it will draw sightseers continuously as the display is well worth visiting. The Plymouth Record, July 7, 1928, v43, no27, p8. For those of you who have lived the Morse Museum experience there is a wealth of information to be found on the internet. Most importantly I heartily recommend you get a copy of "The Morse Museum Story Warren, NH" compiled in 2007 by Philip Merrill Morse, Jr, and relive those childhood visits. I bought 4 copies for my children at the Warren Historical Museum. Besides being well written, there are more pictures than you can shake a stick at. I have yet to get a photo of his gravestone, but there are a few on my site that are of members from his family.
