Mrs. Lillian W Morse of Warren died at her home on North Main Street Saturday morning, December 8, 1973 after a short illness. Mrs. Morse was born February 9, 1893 in Somerville, Mass. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Whitcomb. She moved to Warren in the twenties. Mr. and Mrs. Morse and her late husband Ira. H. Morse owned and operated the famous Morse Museum. Both had been on safaris to add to the museum's display and also on world tours collecting articles for the museum. Since the death of her husband in 1960 Mrs. Morse had travelled abroad every winter until the last three or four years to buy for the museum. Mrs. Morse was a member of the United Methodist Church of Warren and had served as a Steward of the church. Also she was a trustee many times. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Society. Members of the family include a grandson Stuart Simpson and a son-in-law Curtis Simpson, both of Lisbon; one sister Verona Eddy of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two step-sons Phillip Morse of Lowell, Mass.; and Burke Morse of Richmond, Virginia; several nieces and a nephew. Services were held Monday afternoon, December 10 at the United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dorothy H. Sprague officiating. Burial was in the Village cemetery in Warren. Bearers were John Currier, Warren, Lewis Bennett, Derry, Danny Ball, and Jesse Bushaw, Sr., both of Warren. Mrs. Morse will be greatly missed in our small community. Sympathy is extended the family in the loss of their loved one. >The Plymouth Record, December 14, 1973.
