Jennings was born on May 20, 1852 in Wasburn County, Wisconsin and died July 5, 1911 aged 59 years, one month and 16 days. Jennings was born on May 20, 1852 in Wasburn County, Wisconsin and died July 5, 1911 aged 59 years, one month and 16 days. When he was four years old with his parents he moved from Wisconsin to Texas and most of his life was spent in the west. In August 1888 he was married to Minnie King, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.K. King of South Ottumwa. They lived in northwest Kansas at that time. To this union was born five children, two sons and three daughters. He is survived by a wife, one son, two daughters and one brother, George F. Jennings of the state of Washington. Two of his children preceded him in death. Mr. Jennings was a devoted husband, a loving father and a noble Christian gentleman. He did all he could to make a happy home. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a member of the Brethren church of Ottumwa, and was very earnest and active in his church life. He will be missed by all. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Published in the Ottumwa Courier Thursday 6 July 1911 page 6, column 1 JENNINGS - Wednesday morning, July 5, 1911, at 1 o'clock at the Ottumwa hospital, Ira Jennings, age 58 years. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, 501 South Moore street, and at 2:30 at the Brethren church on Moore street, conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Burgin. Interment will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
