She married Alphonse "Shorty" Kramer on Jan. 4, 1938, in Dyersville and was a homemaker. Irene lived for her son and his family and the times they spent together. Survivors include her son, David J.A. (Janice) Kramer of Dyersville; three grandchildren, Diane (Dale) Hefel of Farley and Darrell Kramer and Janet (Mark) Stelken, both of Dyersville; five great-grandchildren, Andy, Jenna and Madison Stelken, Danielle and Dina Hefel; and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Lansing and Mary Kramer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse "Shorty"; two brothers, Vern and Lawrence Lansing; and two sisters, Lucille Prier and Viola Rettig.
