Description	:	Irene Ruth Brown, the daughter of William S. and Kate Reardon Brown, was born in Fairmont, Nebraska, April 20, 1899. She departed this life, December 15, 1928, at her home in Cozad, Nebraska; aged twenty-nine years, seven months and twenty-five days. Read More	Irene Ruth Brown, the daughter of William S. and Kate Reardon Brown, was born in Fairmont, Nebraska, April 20, 1899. She departed this life, December 15, 1928, at her home in Cozad, Nebraska; aged twenty-nine years, seven months and twenty-five days. Irene graduated from the Fairmont high school in the class of 1917. She attended Peru Teachers College, later the University of Nebraska. For several years she was successful as a teacher in the public schools at various points in this state and was a member of the Cozad teacher's staff two years. She was united in marriage to W.T. Thompson Jr., at Fairmont, Nebraska, September 2, 1925, after which they made their home at Cozad, Nebraska. In her early life she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Fairmont, later uniting with the Cozad Church of Christ, where she remained a faithful member until death. She was a good church worker and proved an inspiration to many, belonging to and working in all departments of the church. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Eastern Star and other organizations, proving herself a profitable addition to all. She was an affectionate wife, a true and faithful mother and a loyal friend. She leaves to mourn her departure of this life, her husband, W.T. Thompson and three children, Maxine, Paul and Ted; her father, William S. Brown of Fairmont; (her mother having preceded her in death in 1915); two brothers, W.E. Brown of North Platte and Alva L. Brown of Fairmont; two sisters, Beulah of Fairmont, and Mrs. Ethel Frazier of Lincoln, Nebraska, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the home in Cozad Monday, December 17 at two o'clock p.m., Rev. George W. Bullock of the Church of Christ officiating. The body arrived in Fairmont on Train No. 2 Tuesday and was conveyed to the home of the father, W.S. Brown. Services were conducted in the Fairmont Methodist church Wednesday, December 19, at two o'clock p.m. Rev. Bullock of Cozad officiating, assisted by Rev. C.H. Lind. The church was filled with sorrowing friends, including several members of Mrs. Thompson's graduating class, F.H.S. 1917. Interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery, beside her mother. Those from abroad attending the services in Fairmont, besides the husband were: Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Faught of Cozad, Emmett Thompson of Robstown, Texas, W.E. Brown of North Platte, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Frazier and Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Brown and Mrs. John McCabe of Lincoln.
