She died Dec.14 at Mesa Manor in Grand Junction. She was 94 years old. Iris married Raymond Huber on November 28, 1928 in Rifle, CO. At the time of Raymond's death in 2000, they had been married for 71 years. They farmed in Hamilton, Missouri and Fruita, CO and ran the auction barn in Steamboat Springs, CO. Huber May 31, 1912 - December 14, 2006 Iris M. Wasson was born May 31, 1912 in Parachute, Colorado. She died Dec.14 at Mesa Manor in Grand Junction. She was 94 years old. Iris married Raymond Huber on November 28, 1928 in Rifle, CO. At the time of Raymond's death in 2000, they had been married for 71 years. They farmed in Hamilton, Missouri and Fruita, CO and ran the auction barn in Steamboat Springs, CO. Iris worked for Western Slope Auto for eight years and eight more for Jack McLaughlin, and two years for Butch and Mildred Waddell in Fruita before retiring. She loved to read and bake and as a couple, she and Raymond enjoyed horses and snowmobiling. They wintered for 20 years in Ajo and Yuma Arizona and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Yuma. In addition to her husband, Iris was preceded in death by her brothers Harry and Sam Wasson of Denver and her nephew, David S. McKay of Grand Junction. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn McKay of Parachute, her nephews, Sam Wasson (Sally) of Phoenix, AZ, Hunter Wasson (Bonnie) of Pittsford, New York, and Michael McKay (Linda) of Casper, WY, and her niece, Evalee Gifford (Phil) of Grand Junction plus many great nephews and nieces including Ryan, Griffin and Megan McKay and Connor and Matthew Gifford. We will greatly miss her. Visitation will take place at Snell McLean Funeral Home in Fruita from l to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday and the services will be at l p.m. on Monday at the Methodist Church in Parachute with burial in the Battlement Mesa Cemetery.
