He died at Letts, Iowa, Louisa County, January 15, 1901; aged 68 years, 9 months, 11 days. Mr. Harrison was united in marriage with Elizabeth Higgins [sic Huggins], April 6, 1857, and shortly afterwards removed, with his father's family to Iowa. One year later, his wife died. Hankins of Cedar Township; Francis Edward of Clinton, Illinois; David Oscar of Concord Township; Elizabeth Caroline, wife of Chas. Dowson, of Detroit, Michigan; Louisa Margaret, wife of W[illiam]. S. Berry of Letts, Iowa; George Isaac of Letts, Iowa; John Albert, at present in Council Bluffs, Iowa; and [Grover] Eugene, now attending school at Valparaiso, Indiana. Mr. Harrison was converted at an early age, and has ever since been a faithful follower of the Lord, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He has lived a quiet, peaceful, unobtrusive life, always endeavoring to follow in the footsteps of his Master. Mr. Harrison has been afflicted for several years with asthmatic trouble, very painful and wearing. About a week ago, he was attacked by that prevalent malady "grip" and his already weakened system fell an easy prey to this dangerous ailment. The end came at about 11 o'clock Tuesday night, when he peacefully passed from the trials and sufferings of this mortal existence, to the repose and bliss awaiting him in the "house of many mansions" prepared by our Savior. Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church, Letts, Iowa, Thursday, January 17, 1901, Rev. T.S. Pool officiating, assisted by Rev. T.G. Breaw. The text was from Rom. 6:23. The remains were interred in the Linn Grove Cemetery southwest of town." [Actually buried in Letts Cemetery but his first wife and daughter are buried in Linn Grove Cemetery.]
