Description	:	Isaac Victor Young, son of Isaac and Hattie Morford Young was born October 13, 1874 at Essex, Page County, Ia. ten days after his father's death. He left Iowa with his mother, a brother Charles, an uncle, John Morford, his mother's brother in the fall of 1877, moving to Grandfather Morford's homestead south of Hubbell, Nebraska. His mother married Howe Clark, a civil war soldier with a homestead southwest of Hubbell where the two boys started to school in a log house. Read More	Isaac Victor Young, son of Isaac and Hattie Morford Young was born October 13, 1874 at Essex, Page County, Ia. ten days after his father's death. He left Iowa with his mother, a brother Charles, an uncle, John Morford, his mother's brother in the fall of 1877, moving to Grandfather Morford's homestead south of Hubbell, Nebraska. His mother married Howe Clark, a civil war soldier with a homestead southwest of Hubbell where the two boys started to school in a log house. Later the family moved into Hubbell and there Victor Young attended school. He lived there until he was 18 years old, when he went up on a piece of land south of Chester left to him and his brother by his mother. Victor's mother died when he was 10 years of age. Victor Young married Hattie May Currier February 22, 1898. Five children were born to this union: Goldie Belle, Pearl Marie, Lucy Rebecca, Charles Willder and Howard Victor. In 1953 Mr. and Mrs. Young celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mr. Young served his community as trustee, his school district as treasurer and his county by a number of appointments. He was a charter member of the Chester Rebekah Star of Hope Lodge and a continuous member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge from the time he was 21 years old. He became a member of the Christian Church of Chester during the ministry of Mr. Youtsy. He served the congregation for many years as a clerk of the board. He was preceded in death by Mrs. Young, and a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Billings; and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Sims, of Republican City, Mrs. Lucy Holland of San Diego, California and two sons, Willder of Wichita, and Howard of Chester, Nebr. I.V. Young will be remembered as a person who liked people and was known by many people. He passed this life on October 25, 1954 at his home south of Chester, He was 80 years of age. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 27 from the Christian Church with Rev. Geo. Randall in charge. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery Thursday at 10:00 A.M.
