Mrs. Beach's maiden name was Isabella Atkinson. She was born March 29, 1844, in Durham, England. At the age of 11, she moved with her parents to America, settling in West Virginia. She was married to James Beach in 1861 at Gallopolis, Ohio. After the Civil War, Mr. and Mrs. Beach moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where they lived until coming to Kansas in 1880, and settled in Emporia. She was born March 29, 1844, in Durham, England. At the age of 11, she moved with her parents to America, settling in West Virginia. She was married to James Beach in 1861 at Gallopolis, Ohio. After the Civil War, Mr. and Mrs. Beach moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where they lived until coming to Kansas in 1880, and settled in Emporia. Mr. Beach died two years ago. Mrs. Beach is survived by five children, Mrs. Arthur Johnson, of Greensburg; Mrs. D. W. Brainard, Mrs. Eddie Cilley, Mrs. J. O. Williams and Robert H. Beach, of Emporia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Beach was a member of the First Congregational Church, and had been an active member of the W.R.C. for the past 30 years. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home. Rev. J. H. J. Rice, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.
