Description	:	Bella was born in Cambuslang Scotland, the sixth child of seven children of of Joseph Weir and Jean Edminston. Her siblings were Margaret(Jackson), James, Joseph, Charles, and Jane (Johnstone). She married George Macaulay in 1875 in Cambuslang and was the mother of 8 children, two of whom died before they left Scotland, one of whom, Joseph Weir Macaulay, remained in Scotland and died there at an advanced age. Read More	Bella was born in Cambuslang Scotland, the sixth child of seven children of of Joseph Weir and Jean Edminston. Her siblings were Margaret(Jackson), James, Joseph, Charles, and Jane (Johnstone). She married George Macaulay in 1875 in Cambuslang and was the mother of 8 children, two of whom died before they left Scotland, one of whom, Joseph Weir Macaulay, remained in Scotland and died there at an advanced age. The young family started out living in Blythwood Scotland with George's parents and then moved to Cambuslang in Lanarkshire where the younger children were born and later to Rutherglen. George was a joiner (furniture maker) and the family decided to follow relatives to the US around 1901 with George and his son Robert coming over first with Bella following with the younger children aboard the Numidian arriving in Boston in May 1905. They made their home in Charlestown but work was not forthcoming for the immigrant George and so the family took up farming in New Hampshire. Bella made her home on a farm of 56 acres in a small farmhouse they purchased. They rented out acreage for cattle to make ends meet and lived on the farm the remainder of their lives. Bella died at age 69, 3 mos and 21 days from cerebral softening and heart disease which she had suffered from for a long time. She died at the home of her daughter Agnes Huckins on Park Street in Northfield New Hampshire. Her parents on the death record were those noted above. She was buried beside her husband Feb 23, 1923 in Park Cemetery, FS Shepherd, undertaker. Her son Charles and daughter Agnes Huckins and her husband Alva were also later buried in the family plot. Her son James was buried in a lot opposite. Her sons Robert and George were buried in New York where they resided and her son Joseph buried in his native Scotland.
