Description	:	Former Resident Laid To Rest At Victor Isadora Ann Wilkins, eldest daughter of Thomas and Roxanna Gibbs Wilkins, was born June 17, 1865 at Mechanicsville, Iowa. At an early age she moved with her parents to Illinois, and a short time later, they returned to Iowa and to Victor, where she grew to womanhood. Read More	Former Resident Laid To Rest At Victor Isadora Ann Wilkins, eldest daughter of Thomas and Roxanna Gibbs Wilkins, was born June 17, 1865 at Mechanicsville, Iowa. At an early age she moved with her parents to Illinois, and a short time later, they returned to Iowa and to Victor, where she grew to womanhood. Dora, as she was familiarly known, was a milliner and operated her own shop in Victor until her health failed and she was forced to retire from business. She was a member of the First Methodist church and a faithful worker in the ladies' society of the church, the Y.L.S.C. After many years of ill health, she passed away about 11 p.m. December 23. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter. She is survived by one sister, Maud Wilkins of San Marino, CA., a niece, Janet Wilkins and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mae Phillips, both of Victor. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, December 26 at the McAninch chapel, with the Rev. W. J. Fowler officiating and using the 23rd Psalm for his remarks. Mrs. George Keller presided at the organ, playing "Abide With Me," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Nearer My God To Thee." Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery beside her parents and brother. Pall bearers were John Shultz, Jr., Albert and John Dusterhoft, John Geis, Henry Wahl and Ed Bushnell. With the poet Riley, we can say: "She is not dead-she is just away."
