Wilkins, daughter of Thomas and Roxanna Wilkins, was born at Victor on May 18, 1880. She taught in the rural schools in the vicinity of Victor for a number of years, then enrolled at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, as a nursing student, graduating 1909. She did private nursing until WW I in which she served as an Army nurse overseas. Following the discharge from the Army Nurses Corps she returned to Iowa and was employed for a time as a Supervisor at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. Miss Wilkins, in 1921, moved to Riverside, California, where she following her nursing profession, later moved to Pasadena, California, where she retired in 1943. Following retirement, Miss Wilkins made her home with a friend Mrs. Lyle Kinmouuth, both at Red Bank, New Jersey, and in San Marino, California. She leaves surviving her niece, Miss Janet Wilkins, Victor; and cousins, Miss Margaret Wilkins of Pasadena, California Mrs. Quincy Cass of Los Angeles, and Robert Wilkins of Hemet, CA. Funeral services for Maud Wilkins were held at the Turner-Stevens Chapel in Pasadena on September 13, and at the McAninch Funeral Chapel, Victor, on September 16, the Rev. Paul Textor officiating at the services in Victor. Organ solo, "Beyond the Sunset" by Mrs. Bette Rieke. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at Victor. Casket bearers were J.J. Fullmer, Ray Gensley, W.R. Chittenden, C.D. McAninch, E.I. Lawton, and George Montgomery.
