Description	:	J. Frank Harker of Carlinville, Ill., formerly of Westmont, N.J., passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was 92. He was born Aug. 10, 1917 in Pemberton, the son of the late George and Helen (Burtis) Harker. He was a native of Pemberton and graduate of Pemberton Borough High School Class of 1936. He was born Aug. 10, 1917 in Pemberton, the son of the late George and Helen (Burtis) Harker. He was a native of Pemberton and graduate of Pemberton Borough High School Class of 1936. Frank was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Margaret L. "Peggy" Hendricks on April 20, 1946. He was a retired office manager for Theodore E. Mozer Inc., of Palmyra, retiring in 1985. Frank was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Westmont, and a member of the American Legion Post 100. He loved playing sports in his younger years and then turned to watching them later in life. He was an avid Phillies fan. He was the beloved husband of Margaret L. "Peggy" Harker; dear father of Gloria Jean Higgins of Carlinville, Ill.; devoted grandfather of Heather Heater (John), also of Carlinville, Amy Pope (David) of Pensacola, Fla., Angela Higgins of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; and dear great-grandfather of Jordyn Houseman of Carlinville; dear brother of Leona Scott and Ethel Haines (Sam), all of Pemberton. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Harker and his sisters, Mary Stokley and Ethel Dries. Relatives and friends of Frank's family are invited to his viewing and visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton Borough, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton Borough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 25 Reeve Ave., Westmont, NJ 08108.
