Description	:	HOLD LAST RITES HERE FOR J. H. DAVIS FORMER VILLISCAN Funeral services were held Friday at the Wolfe Funeral Home for J. H. "Jake" Davis of Hastings, Nebraska. The services were conducted by the Rev. E. M. Buehler. The music was by Cecil Weaver, who sang, "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Some Day," accompanied by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler and the pall bearers were Omer Day, Elias Lewis, Jay Wheeler, Judd Means, Joseph Gourley, and Frank Pierson. Mr. Davis was born in Hillsboro, Ohio, October 9, 1858 and died at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Agnes Dennis in Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years. He was married in Villisca to Mary Smith and to this union were born two sons, Alvy who died at the age of 7 years and Elmo who died at the age of 4 eyers. MR. and Mrs. Davis spent their entire married life in Villisca, where he worked for a number of years in the grocery store of his brother J. P. Davis, going from there to work for J. M. Patton in the Patton Clothing Store Later he worked for A. R. Means in the Means Hardware Store until his wife's death on September 30, 1933. Shortly after her death, MR Davis went to Hastings where he made his home with his sister-in-law until his death. He leaves a niece, Georgia Harper of Exeter, California.
