Jasper Passes Away Friends of Jacob H. Jasper, who lives a few miles southwest of Fort Benton, were shocked and grieved to learn of his death at the ranch on Friday morning, death being caused by heart trouble. Mr. Jasper had been in poor health for the past month, but none knew that his condition was serious. He had been a resident of the county since 1912. For a number of years he conducted a ranch in the Goosebill section, where he homesteaded, later moving to the Stevens ranch on the Missouri river a few miles from this city, where he has been engaged in the sheep business. Previous to engaging in ranching he was a contractor, and since coming to this county has built a couple houses in this city as well as quite a little other work. For a time the family resided here while the younger children attended school. Jacob Herbert Jasper was born in Doorn, Holland, on April 14, 1863, and died on April 14, 1933, being just 70 years of age at the time of his passing. After coming to the United States he spent his early life in Minnesota, and came to this county in 1912, where he has built an excellent reputation for fair and honest dealing. He is survived by his wife and four children: two daughters, Mrs. J. Keating of Great Falls, and Mrs. H. H. Smith of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Linus H. and James H., both of whom reside at home. He is also survived by two brothers, Theo. and William Jasper, both of Shockpel, Minn. Funeral services were held from the Catholic church on Tuesday morning and were attended by a large number of friends who came to pay their last respects to their departed neighbor and friend. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
