Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Born April 12, 1914, in Fort Benton, he grew up in nearby Teton River and Goosebill rural areas. He and Grace Courtnage were married in 1937 at Shelby and made their home in Fort Benton. Jasper worked for a local garage and later operated a restaurant and was in partnership in the Price-Rite grocery. He also drove a school bus and senior citizen bus for a number of years and was active with the Fort Benton Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Knights of Columbus. His wife died in 1989. He is survived by one daughter, Elenette Bach, Klamath Falls, Ore.; Patty Kendle, who was raised by the Jasper family, Great Falls; three grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Smith, Anacortes, Wash.; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
