Description	:	Jacob Knouff Valentine was born September 1, 1813, in Clear Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the son of George and Elizabeth Knouff Valentine. On February 26, 1835, in Fairfield County, he married his first wife, Mary Stebelton, daughter of John and Mary Magdalene Shoemaker Stebelton. They were the parents of 9 children: John Stebelton, Lydia, George Stebelton, Jeremiah Stebelton, Elizabeth, David, Solomon Stebelton, Jerome and Amos Stebelton Valentine. Mary passed away in 1847 and he married 2nd on September 27, 1849, in Fairfield County, to Catherine Young. She passed away in 1881 and he married... On February 26, 1835, in Fairfield County, he married his first wife, Mary Stebelton, daughter of John and Mary Magdalene Shoemaker Stebelton. They were the parents of 9 children: John Stebelton, Lydia, George Stebelton, Jeremiah Stebelton, Elizabeth, David, Solomon Stebelton, Jerome and Amos Stebelton Valentine. Mary passed away in 1847 and he married 2nd on September 27, 1849, in Fairfield County, to Catherine Young. She passed away in 1881 and he married 3rd on March 30, 1882, in Fairfield County, to Ellen Sweyer Porter, daughter of John and Margaret McDill Sweyer. There were no children from his 2nd and 3rd marriages. Jacob passed away on September 10, 1890, in Stoutsville, Fairfield County, and was buried on the 12th in Heidelberg Cemetery there. From the History of Pickaway County, Ohio, page 410: "...The father (i.e. Jacob) of Mr. Valentine was born in Pennsylvania and the mother in Fairfield County, Ohio. The latter died when her son, Solomon S. Valentine, was but three years old and he was reared in the home of a relative, in Fairfield County, until the age of 17 years..." Valentine, in Stoutsville, Tuesday night. Funeral service Thursday, by Rev. Wenrich." Obituary for Jacob Knouff Valentine from the Circleville Democrat & Watchman of September, 1890: "Jacob K. Valentine, who died at the residence of his son, John S. Valentine, at Stoutsville, 10th ult., was born September 1, 1813, making his age 77 years and 9 days. He was thrice married,first to Mary Stebelton, by whom he had eight children, six sons and two daughters. She died in 1848, and a few years thereafter he married Catharine Young, who died in 1881. In 1884, he was married to Ellen Porter, of Amanda, who survives him."
