Description	:	Jeremiah Stebelton Valentine was born April 9, 1840, in Clear Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the son of Jacob Knouff Valentine and wife Mary Stebelton. On January 12, 1862, he married Mary Magdalene Upp, in Fairfield County. They were the parents of 4 children: Ida A., George Allen, Omer Franklin and Clarence O. Valentine (died in infancy). Obituary for Jeremiah Valentine from a Circleville newspaper of Thursday, December 11, 1913: "END CAME SUDDENLY. Jeremiah Valentine Passes Away at Home of Daughter, Mrs. E. A. Thatcher. Jeremiah Valentine died suddenly Tuesday evening at 4:50 o'clock at the home of his son-in-law, E. A. Thatcher, in Pickaway Township, of heart trouble. Mr. Valentine went to his son-in-law's home Monday to assist him in butchering hogs and became suddenly ill, and from then failed rapidly. He was ill only twenty-four hours. Mr. Valentine was one of the best known farmers in Pickaway Township. He was born in Clearcreek Township, Fairfield County, April 9, 1840 and was a son of Jacob Valentine and Mary Stepleton Valentine. His mother died when he was a small child. Mr. Valentine's wife died in 1899. Two sons and one daughter survive. They are: Frank Valentine of Pickaway Township; Allen Valentine, of Adelphi, and Ida, wife of E. A. Thatcher, of Pickaway Township. Of his immediate family, one brother survives, S. S. Valentine, of Pickaway Township. Mr. Valentine in politics was a staunch Republican. Socially, he was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Tarlton, and was also a member of the Lutheran Church of Stoutsville. The funeral services will be held at the Lutheran Church in Stoutsville this afternoon. Rev. Stoffer will officiate. The funeral cortege will leave the home at 12 o'clock." Death notice for Jeremiah Valentine from the Stoutsville News of Friday, December 12, 1913: "VALENTINE. Jeremiah Valentine died Tuesday evening, rather suddenly. He had been helping to butcher, Monday, and fell over from exertion, and was carried into the house and a physician sent for. He seemed better, and Tuesday evening, his daughter, Mrs. Elijah Thatcher, left him sitting in a chair and went out for a few minutes, and when she returned, he was dead. The funeral was held in the Lutheran Church, Stoutsville, Thursday afternoon. He resided in Thatcher and lived alone, his wife having died some years ago. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery."
