Read More	Glasco Sun, May 17, 1923, page 1: Pioneer Citizen of Glasco Died Tuesday Morning Jacob Studt Sr. Attained a Great Age -- Came to Kansas in 1879 Another of our venerable pioneer citizens passed to his reward this week, Jacob Studt Sr., who was well known and highly respected by all the people, died at his home in this city at 12 o'clock Tuesday morning, following an illness of short duration. Mr. Studt attained the ripe old age of 84 years, 2 months and 4 days, and was one of the Solomon Valley's foremost pioneers. Jacob Studt was born March 10, 1839 in Rheinprovince, Germany and was united in marriage to Eliese Margarata Studt, May 1863. In September 1872 he and his family emigrated to the United States, arriving in St. Louis, Missouri, in October. After being here two weeks, their son Jacob died. In March, 1873 the family moved to Johnson county, Iowa, and in the same year, December 1873, he was bereft of his wife. In December, 1874 he was united in marriage for the second time to Mrs. Studt (nee Altman). At the time of her marriage with Mr. Studt, she was the mother of 6 children. In 1879 they moved to Kansas, locating on a farm by Glasco. At this place, his wife died in the year 1896. This union was blessed with two children. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Brandt (nee Freda Gundelfinger) and in 1917 they moved to Glasco where they have ever since resided. Mr. Studt was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical faith and thus became a member of the Evangelical church. But in this country he joined the Ev. Lutheran. While living in this community he became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and served for many years as a member of the Church Council and filled the office of secretary for the congregation. Mr. Studt lived the life of a consistent Christian; his life was a living epistle as an example of the honest, God-fearing Christian gentleman and citizen. Those surviving him are: his aged widow, and one daughter, Mrs. Herman Pinkall of Glasco, and one grand child, Mrs. Roy Martin and two great grandchildren, Margaret and Max Martin of his first marriage . One son, Otto, of California, and one daughter, Mrs. Rheuben Spicher of Glasco, and three grandchildren, Noble and Wilbur Spicher of Glasco and Melva Studt of California, and five step-children, Jacob, Phillip, Henry, George Studt and Mrs. Henry Romeiser all of Glasco; and twenty-five step-grandchildren. Those other surviving relatives are five step-children of his third marriage, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Adam Studt, by his first marriage passed away in 1888 and his step son, Adam Studt, died in 1917. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at St. Paul's Lutheran church, conducted by Pastor E.H.
