Description	:	James A. "Jim" Maciejewski, 85, of Loup City died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City, with the Rev. Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City, with military honors by Loup City American Legion Post 48. Mr. Maciejewski was born June 27, 1925, at Loup City to Edward and Theresa (Jarzynka) Maciejewski. He married Elaine Bydalek on Oct. 14, 1947, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Donna Maciejewski of Loup City; and three daughters and a son-in-law, Marcia and Steve Kuta of Omaha, Donna Gancos of Kearney and Deanne Maciejewski of Maywood. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Jason Maciejewski, Cami Behounek, Jayme Maciejewski, Corey Gancos, Mandy Schuum, Brad Gancos, Craig Kuta, Melissa Long, Tracy Brummer and Mitch Gancos; and seven great-grandchildren, Kale Long, Vivien Long, Clara Behounek, Cecilia Behounek, Caleb Brummer, Dylan Brummer and Alexander Maciejewski. Jim grew up on a farm west of Loup City. He attended country school and high school in Loup City. He served in the U.S. Army from March 27, 1945, to Nov. 21, 1946. He lived in the Loup City area his entire life. He was employed at Co-op Creamery and later was co-owner for more than 30 years. He retired due to health issues. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing pitch. He was in a pitch club for 32 years. He also loved being with his family and friends. He was a handy man around the house and could fix anything. He was a member of Loup City American Legion Post 48 and also a member of the Loup City VFW. He was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, where he served as a eucharistic minister for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; a sister, Evelyn; and an infant brother, John. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Rescue Squad or the donor's choice.
