Description	:	James Bluford Cannon, one of four children of Smith Jennings and Iva Jones Cannon, was born May 20, 1913, at Blue Mound, Kan., and died March 10 at the Veterans Hospital, Grand Island, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 18 days. May 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Roma Kinnison at Marysville, Kan. To this union a son and daughter were born. Cannon moved to Nelson in 1917. May 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Roma Kinnison at Marysville, Kan. To this union a son and daughter were born. Cannon moved to Nelson in 1917. Other communities he had lived in were Rogers, Ark., Eugene, Ore., Beatrice, Geneva and Decatur, Neb. While in Nelson he was the service station manager at the Farmers Union Co-op Oil Station. March 13, 1942, he enlisted in the United State Army at Fort Crook, Neb. He served his country in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and central Europe. He was honorably discharged Aug. 18, 1945, at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Arden, and one sister, Ocie Flower. Surviving are his wife, Roma; his children, Terry of Hastings and Janet Cannon, Nelson; his granddaughter, Amy Cannon, Nelson; sister, Arlene Humston, Ashland; and a host of other relatives. Services were Saturday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m., from the Klawitter Funeral Home Chapel, Nelson, with Rev. Charles Carter officiating and burial with full military rites by the Nelson American Legion and VFW, was in the Nelson Cemetery. Superior Express, Nelson, March 19, 1981
