Description	:	James "Buck" Bias, 83, of Rock Creek, near Danville, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at his home following complications relating to a short illness. Born July 26, 1926, in Logan County, he was the son of the late James B. Bias Sr. and Emmer Nelson Bias. Buck was also preceded in death by brothers, Don, Ray, Staats and Mansfield Bias. Buck was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company, where he worked for 33 years until he retired in 1984. Born July 26, 1926, in Logan County, he was the son of the late James B. Bias Sr. and Emmer Nelson Bias. Buck was also preceded in death by brothers, Don, Ray, Staats and Mansfield Bias. Buck was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company, where he worked for 33 years until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the UMWA, a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and a member of the IOOF in Madison for 52 years. Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Mullins of Rock Creek; grandson, Josh Chaffin of Madison; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Elmer Scragg of Ottawa, Bonnie and Herman Miller of Clothier, Nina and Jim McClure of Spencer, Ohio, and Eleanor Wade of Grafton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Pete Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in Family Memorial Gardens, near Madison. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
