The little fellow became ill about three weeks ago and his condition became so serious that he was brought into the home of his grandmother Mrs. Mary Louthan, where he might be nearer medical aid and all efforts to save the precious little life, however, were in vain. James Edmond Louthan was born on Fisher Creek near Glasco, September 20, 1917, and died August 11, 1918, age 10 months and 21 days. Like a budding lily, transplanted to bloom in all its beauty and purity in a better world, this little child stayed long enough to gladden the hearts of the loved ones to whom he was dearest, and then went to be with Him, who said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." On June 16, 1918, he was enrolled as a member of the Cradle Roll Department of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday School of Glasco. We shall be lonely without him, but we know that he is in the loving care of Him whose love is so far above ours as heaven is above earth. Our hearts are saddened at his going away, yet we find comfort in the thought that we have one more treasure in heaven. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. Templin of Simpson. Burial was in Glasco Cemetery.
