Description	:	James Edwin "Ed" Hazel, Sr, age 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Born in Laurens on April 22, 1931, he was a son of Frank Godfrey and Lucia Owens Hazel. Ed was a US Army Korean War Veteran and was a member of the VFW. Read More	James Edwin "Ed" Hazel, Sr, age 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Born in Laurens on April 22, 1931, he was a son of Frank Godfrey and Lucia Owens Hazel. Ed was a US Army Korean War Veteran and was a member of the VFW. He was a co-owner of Laurens Tire & Recapping and later a co-owner of Superior Auto. He was a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church for 67 years where he was recently honored as a church usher with 60 years of service. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter and their spouses, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, and was the last member of the Frank Hazel family. A private burial service took place at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Friday, February 5. A memorial service was held at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, February 6 (conducted by Rev. Michael Post), which was open to the public. [Beazel was a kind, sweet, gentle, humble man, and we will miss him greatly. All the Hazel boys are gone now but the world is richer for having them for a while. Rest in peace, boys. We love you.]
