Mr. Hogge was born in Gloucester County January 24, 1859, and was believed to be the oldest white citizen in the county. He was active in the community until a short time before his death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marnix and Mrs. John W. Spencer of Hampton; one son, Russell K. Hogge of Hampton; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Miss Ellen Hogge of Wicomico. The cortege will leave Foster-Bridges Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday for Singleton's Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. N. F. Hunt and the Rev. Victor B. Anthony III. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Robert Hogge, Max Hogge, Watson Hogge, Clinton Hogge, Edward Brown and Wilbur Brown.
