The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, with military rites by Haney-Brannan American Legion Post 181. Mr. Parsons was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Birmingham, the son of Lester E. and Edith Pratt Parsons. He married Joyce I. Krewson May 12, 1957. Mr. Parsons was a 1950 graduate of Birmingham High School and served four years in the United States Navy. He was a resident of Birmingham most of his life. He retired from ACCO Louden in 1995 with 47 years of service. He served as Birmingham City clerk and in other capacities. Mr. Parsons was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church, serving on various committees. He also was a member of Birmingham Haney-Brannan American Legion Post 181. Survivors include his wife Joyce; one daughter, Susan Griffin and husband Larry of Fairfield; one son, Alan J. Parsons and wife Sheila of Winfield; four grandchildren, Chris, Robyn and Travis Griffin and Jamie J. Parsons; two stepgrandchildren, Larry Jr. and Matthew Griffin; and one sister, Jeralee Larson and husband Jim of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.
