Description	:	James L. Kemp, of Emmitsburg, MD, died June 28, 2009, in Taneytown. Born May 26, 1923 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Ruth A. Kemp (Stup) and Charles L. Kemp. Mr. Kemp worked for 36 years as a butcher at A & P Grocers. After retirement he owned Jim's Lock and Key. He was a member of the American Legion Post #121 and the VFW Post in Emmitsburg, MD; an honorary member of the Vigilant Hose Company #25 of Emmitsburg, MD and he served in the United States Army in WWII. Kemp of Thurmont, MD, and Wanda and Ralph Boone of Frederick, MD; a sister Mary G. Norwood of Gettysburg; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a son, James R. Diller. Interment was in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
