Description	:	JAMES OTIS LITTLE James Otis Little, eldest son of William Warren and Martha Little was born November 23, 1887, in Harrison County, Mo., and passed from this life at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, on Wednesday morning, June 11, 1947, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 17 days. Read More	JAMES OTIS LITTLE James Otis Little, eldest son of William Warren and Martha Little was born November 23, 1887, in Harrison County, Mo., and passed from this life at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, on Wednesday morning, June 11, 1947, at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 17 days. He had been in failing health for several years but his final illness was of only 6 days duration. During the long months of ill health, he maintained a cheerful attitude and was thoughtful of those around him, had the kindness and the quiet calm which is evidence of inward strength, and was able to bear his suffering with great courage and patience. Otis, as he was known to his many friends, grew to manhood on his father's farm in Harrison County and was graduated from the Eagleville High School in 1905. On December 2, 1908, he was wedded in marriage to Myrtle Brooks, and to this union one son, Cecil was born. The young couple settled on his grandfather's farm which is their present home, and with the exception of 5 years when they lived on his father's place, they have lived on their original farm. As a boy, he united with the Otterbein United Brethren Church, and during his entire life, he demonstrated Christian principles that earned for him the respect and trust of his fellowman and business associates. He was a tireless worker for the betterment of his community and served in many capacities. At the time of his death, he was a trustee of Fayette Township, a director of the Farmers Cooperative Grain and Seed Company, and a Triple A committeeman, a position he held from the day the farm program was first introduced. During the war, he was active in bond drives and always assisted with the work of the American Red Cross locally. He is survived by his devoted companion; his son Cecil and wife Dorothy: three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Wilcoxson and Mrs. Letha Hart, both of Lamoni, Mrs. Nora Brooks of Eagleville, Mo.; and one brother Glenn Little of Eagleville. Countless friends and other relatives also mourn his passing. The cards received at the hospital, the floral tributes, and many neighborly acts will long be remembered.
