LITTLE Martha Graham was born in Joe Davis county, Ill., March 11, 1859, the daughter of Theodore and Letha Graham, the youngest of a family of ten children – five sisters and five brothers – passed away at her home south of Lamoni at 10:35, Friday night, Sept. 14, 1917, being at the time of her death 58 years, 6 months and 3 days of age. She came from Illinois to Iowa in November, 1866, and was united in marriage to W. W. Little on November 8, 1877. To this union five children were born who were all present at the time of her death. Mr. and Mrs. Little moved from Iowa to Missouri July 2, 1878. She was converted in a series of meetings held by Rev. Amos Coen and in February, 1877, joined the U. B. church of which she was a faithful member to the end. Mrs. Little had been a sufferer for the past fifteen months. The husband and five children, all of who are married, Mrs. Mabel G. Wilcoxson, Mrs. Letha D. Hart, Mrs. Nora A. Brooks, James Otis and Glen G. Little; also five grandchildren are left to mourn as well as two brothers, W. H. Graham of Leon and Ben F. Graham of Lamoni, and three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Smith of Lamoni, Mrs. Lyda M. Olds of Warren, Joe Davis County, Ill., and Mrs. Florence V. Lamphair of Pleasanton, Iowa, and a large number of relatives from Leon, Davis City, Lamoni, Kellerton, Pleasanton and Mt. Ayr, besides the host of friends and acquaintances. Her nephews acted as pallbearers. In the death of sister Little, the husband has lost a devoted wife, the children an affectionate mother, the church a faithful member and the community a loyal citizen. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, September 16 at her home in Harrison county, Missouri. Sermon conducted by Rev. W. O. Smith. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa.
