Obituary November 16, 2010 www.independencedeclaration.com ************************************************ James Victor “J.V.” Elliott, 83, of Wytheville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 into the arms of his Lord and Savior. J.V. was born June 25, 1927 in Elk Creek, Va. He was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in Germany. He was a life-long member of I.B.E.W. in Winston-Salem, N.C., for 63 years. Jim worked in many different states throughout his career, having retired in 1993 from the electrical trade. Jim was a devoted family man who cherished his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, Pittsburgh Pirate fan, and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Wytheville. Jim was a very loving person who would gladly give his time to all those in need. He was deeply loved by his family and all those who knew him. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, James Alvin Elliott. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lou E. Anders Elliott of Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Ann and Joe Cavender of Wytheville; sons and daughter-in-law, Roger M. Elliott of Wytheville, and Eddie D. and Donna M. Elliott of Butler, Pa.; sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Johnnie Delp of Elk Creek; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren also survive. His funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Steve Ridenhour and Vicar Jason Felici with the interment in the Osborne Family Cemetery in Independence, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or the Agape Food Pantry of Wytheville.
