Description	:	James William "Jim" Hamilton was born Aug 26, 1959 in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Bill and Ruth (Berglund) Hamilton of Lewellen, NE. A big sister Kathryn was there to welcome him home and three brothers followed. Jim went very peacefully to be in the arms of Jesus Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013 at his home with Martha by his side. He loved growing up on the farm; he had a way of understanding animals. Jim went very peacefully to be in the arms of Jesus Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013 at his home with Martha by his side. He loved growing up on the farm; he had a way of understanding animals. He worked hard to break two albino horses that he had. He would rather be outside than inside, which was evidence in all of his life. His first memory was as a toddler wandering from home and pushing gravel off Blue Creek bridge into the water, his dad had tracked him down. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends and do they have stories to tell. Family and friends was all a targets of his teasing, no one was left out. He attended school in Lewellen with one year at a country school and one year at Oshkosh. He dropped out in the 10th grade. When he lived in Lincoln he also attended Southeast Community College. Starting at the age of 9 after school and summers he spent two years working for Alfie Cheney and then milking cows for Ted Fiesterman getting to his jobs by either bicycle, horse or tractor (if there was money for gas). After quitting school he worked at Oshkosh Feedyard and Marshalltown Instruments. In December 1978, his sister talked him into moving to Lincoln. In March 1978, he started his job at Cushman's Inc and worked there for 20 years as a CNC machinists. Besides Cushman's he did several part-time jobs, Village Inn, junkyard (several times), mechanic on garbage trucks. Back in Oshkosh he worked at the fish farm in Lisco than again at Oshkosh Feedyard before his health was too bad to work. In 1983 he married Martha Myrl Burge at Lincoln Wesleyan Church. They just celebrated their 30 wedding anniversary in May. To this union 2 boys were born -- Glen in 1985 and Jason in 1987. In August of 2000, the family moved to Oshkosh area where Jim lived the rest of life. His faith was a big part of his life. In Lincoln he was a member of Christ's Place Church and helped plant Highlands Community Church. He was a member of Oshkosh Assembly of God and one of its board members. He could relate to all types of people because of what he had went through in life. He was involved in prison ministry both at Nebraska State Penitentiary and Garden County Jail. He loved to share what God had done in his life. He was so proud of what his sons have accomplished with their lives. He would light up every time he would see his grandson. At age 11, he was diagnosed with types 1 diabetes. He spent more than 40 years living with the disease and the many effects that it has on the body. He saw many miracles and he knew without a doubt that God was the only one who could have done them. Proceeding him in death are all grandparents. He is survived by his wife Martha of Oshkosh, son Glen of Scottsbluff, son Jason and wife (Stacy) with Grandson Zephaniah of Gering. Parents Bill and Ruth Hamilton of Lewellen, siblings Kathryn (Raymond) of Salt Lake City, UT, Dan (Kathrine) of Bennet, NE, John (Tiffany) of Indianapolis, IN, Roger (Cheryl) of Bridgeport, NE, 22 nieces/nephews, 17 great nieces/nephews and one great great nephew.
