Enock Finklea, pastor of the Hemingway Methodist Church. Burial was in the family plot in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery. Palbearers were J. D. Brown, Jr., Elmer Huggins, Robert Gibson, Fred D. Chandler, H. L. Stuckey, Clifton Mudge, C. A. Smith and Herman Lentz. Mr. Huggins was a son of the late Ottis Guinan Huggins, Sr. and the late Ida Belle Newman Huggins. He was a well known citizen and prominent business leader in the community where he was born July 24, 1924. He was graduated from Hemingway High School in 1940 and attended Clemson College 3 3/4 years. During his senior year at Clemson, 3 months before graduation, he was chosen for Officers Training at Clemson. He joined the Army Air Forces and was retired after World War II with the rank of 1st Lt. He was a member of the D.A.V, VFW post of Georgetown, DAV post of Columbia, the Johnsonville American Legion Post and the Indiantown Masonic Lodge. He was associated in business with Huggins Bros. Lumber Company in Hemingway. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. June Hill Huggins, two daughters, Sandy and Nancy Huggins, one son, James William Huggins, Jr., and one brother O. G. Huggins, Jr.
