Meyer, age 76, of Wichita, KS, formerly of Strong City, KS, died Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Meadowlark Adult Care Home in Wichita. The daughter of Kenneth and Florence “Flo” (Crum) Clark, she was born October 17, 1938, at Fort Smith, AK. She graduated from Strong City High School in 1957 and attended Emporia State College for one year. While she was there, she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She and Raymond L. Meyer were married August 31, 1958, in Strong City. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2010. She and Ray owned and operated the Strong City Grocery for 16 years. She worked at Strong City State Bank, at Newman Hospital in the personnel department, and at Sheplar’s and Wescon Products as the Human Resources Manager. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her children and grandchildren's school events including baseball and football games and wrestling matches. She always had time to play catch and spend time with them. She was a member of Strong City United Methodist Church and was active in the church and United Methodist Women. She is survived by two sons, Steve Meyer (Jackie) of Wichita, KS and Gary Meyer (Nancy) of Monett, MO; one brother, Keith Clark of Salina, KS and his four children; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Clark. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, February 10, at 10:00, at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with Mr. Floyd Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in Strong City Cemetery. The family will meet friends Monday, from 6:00 until 7:30, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Amedisys Hospice of Wichita may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry St., Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845. Condolence messages may be left with the funeral home.
