Janet is survived by her sons and daughters: Bruce Ottolini and wife Gail, Julie Ottolini McGovern and husband Steven, Keith Ottolini, Lori Ottolini Geno and husband Kevin, and Jennifer Ottolini and partner Wendy Bear. Janet is survived by her sister, Peggy Roberts, brother, Sam Cameron, brother in-law, Lloyd Bowen, son-in-law Joseph Repp, and by many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Janet was born in Westwood, CA, the sixth of nine children and spent her early years on the family mining claim in Seneca in the Sierra Mountain Range. Janet attended Greenville Elementary and High School, graduating in 1941. Although the family lived in a rural setting, Janet was well versed in poetry, literature, music and enjoyed trips to San Francisco to partake in cultural events. After High School, Janet moved to San Francisco, where she worked at the telephone company as an operator, and was introduced to her future husband, Arthur, through mutual family friends. Janet and Art married in December of 1942 in San Francisco and shortly afterward, she bid farewell to her young husband, as he, along with other Army Air Corps pilots, headed to the South Pacific. Like many young wives during WW ll, Janet welcomed the arrival of their first daughter in '45 while eagerly awaiting Art's return from war. For the next twenty years, Janet was a devoted wife and mother to their six children - making certain each had basic reading and math skills before starting first grade. Janet volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, was an active volunteer in Boy Scouts, and in many of her children's school and cultural activities. In the mid-sixties, when just 'the girls', Lori and Jennifer, remained in the home, Janet started her career first working in an interior design showroom located on SF's Maiden Lane, and later as an administrator for the Federal Government's Civil Service Commission, which became the Office of Personnel Management and was commended for her administration of the prestigious 'White House Fellow' selection process. After twenty years of public service, Janet retired to enjoy many years with family and friends in San Francisco and summers in Lake Almanor. In 2005, Janet, Art, and their beloved dog, Angus, moved to the Vista Del Monte retirement community in Santa Barbara, CA. While their decision to leave San Francisco was difficult, they quickly made friends at VDM and enjoyed frequent visits with family and friends. Janet will be buried alongside her husband in the 'Prattville Pioneer Cemetery' beside Lake Almanor over Thanksgiving weekend and a family mass will follow at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco.
