Description	:	Janet S. “Jan” Mackenzie, 81, a lifelong Mooresville resident, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2020. She was born on December 22, 1938 in Mooresville to the late Paul “Pete” and Louise (Duncan) Swisher. She married Max L. Mackenzie in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Janet graduated from Mooresville High School in 1956, and while raising her four sons, graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 1975. She worked for many years at the former Kendrick Hospital. She was still practicing nursing at the age of 78, and retired from St.... Read More	Janet S. “Jan” Mackenzie, 81, a lifelong Mooresville resident, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2020. She was born on December 22, 1938 in Mooresville to the late Paul “Pete” and Louise (Duncan) Swisher. She married Max L. Mackenzie in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Janet graduated from Mooresville High School in 1956, and while raising her four sons, graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 1975. She worked for many years at the former Kendrick Hospital. She was still practicing nursing at the age of 78, and retired from St. Francis Hospital in 2018. Janet was a longtime and devoted member of Mt. Gilead Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and playing the organ and piano. Janet was dedicated to her faith, family and enjoyed her career in nursing. She will be fondly remembered for her care for others by a loving family and many friends. Survivors include four sons; one brother; one sister; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 East State Road 144, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon at the church. Burial will be at White Lick Cemetery.
