He is suffering from pleurisy, with danger of pneumonia. A son, Clarence, and his wife came up Sunday night. Mrs. Clarence Fountain is still here." Tuesday Page 1 JASON FOUNTAIN TAKEN BY DEATH - - Just 24 days after the death of his wife, the late Mrs. Elizabeth Fountain, Jason Fountain died today at the family home at Fulton. The deceased was a native of Nebraska and was 65 years of age, and had lived in California for many years. Mr. Fountain had been ill for a long time and since the death of his wife he suffered with influenza which ended his life this morning. The surviving members of the family are Clarence Fountain of Larkspur, and Ernest Fountain of Fulton. Jason Fountain, dearly beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Fountain, father of Clarence Fountain of Larkspur and Ernest Fountain of Fulton. A native of Nebraska, aged 65 years 6 months and 22 days. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Thursday, April 9, at 11 a.m. from the chapel at Weitl Bros. Rev. Fred Keast officiating. Interment Forestville. - - - - - Jason Fountain's death certificate reveals that he was born in Nebraska on September 15, 1859. His father is identified as Thomas Fountain (born in England) and his mother is identified as Abilena [also spelled "Abilene"] Phipps (born in Connecticut). Jason Fountain died at the age of 65 on April 7, 1925 – just three weeks after the death of Elizabeth. His death certificate is signed by his son, Ernest Fountain – also of Fulton. Jason Fountain was buried in Forestville [Forestview] Cemetery on April 9, 1925 and again, C & F. Weldi handled the funeral arrangements. The citation for his death record is: Jason Fountain, death certificate 25-020795(1925), California Department of Health Services, Sacramento. NOTE: There is no headstone. No burial records. Several unknown graves at this cemetery. Jason/s mother-in-law (wife Elizabeth's mother), Margaret Egloff, fell ill and died while visiting the Fountain family in California. Margaret is buried at Forestville Cemetery and does have a headstone. It's possible Elizabeth and Jason Fountain are buried near Margaret.
