Description	:	Jean W. Bowers, 88, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 10, 2011 at Falls City. He was born April 3, 1923 at Barada, NE to the late James and Aurbie (Wileman) Bowers. Jean served in the military for thirteen months at Ft. Riley, KS. On June 2, 1951 he married Lorena M. Furnas at Tecumseh, NE. He was born April 3, 1923 at Barada, NE to the late James and Aurbie (Wileman) Bowers. Jean served in the military for thirteen months at Ft. Riley, KS. On June 2, 1951 he married Lorena M. Furnas at Tecumseh, NE. Jean was raised in the Barada area and graduated from Falls City High School in 1940 and then he served in the military for 13 months at Ft. Riley, KS. Following his service he farmed for one year, then worked for Melvin Ernst for 7 years, for Roland Owens for 2 years; the Buchholz-Campbell Sale Barn for l2 years and Farm & City Supply for 12 years. He was Clerk of the Richardson County District Court for 12 years. He was a member of the Falls City Riding Club for 50 plus years, American Legion Post #102, and a member of the Sheriff's Posse. Jean is survived by his wife, Lorena of Falls City, daughters, Jeanette Chamberlain and Nancy Ramer and her husband Steve both of Falls City, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Weldon and Berwin and sisters, Jolene Bauman and Fala Mark. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Harris Cemetery, Barada, with Reverend Paul Weinert officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
