Description	:	OBIT: Jeanette Geoghegan, 69, of Ellensburg, died Thursday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born March 8, 1921 in Ellensburg, she was one of eight children of John and Maggie (Massey) McCullough. Following graduation from Ellensburg High School in 1938, she began her long professional career in the offices of the City of Ellensburg. Active in civic and business community affairs, she was the first woman to serve as president of the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce. Read More	OBIT: Jeanette Geoghegan, 69, of Ellensburg, died Thursday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born March 8, 1921 in Ellensburg, she was one of eight children of John and Maggie (Massey) McCullough. Following graduation from Ellensburg High School in 1938, she began her long professional career in the offices of the City of Ellensburg. Active in civic and business community affairs, she was the first woman to serve as president of the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce. She was employed in the early 50s by Washington National Bank, now First Interstate, and in 1972 she earned recognition as the first woman to be appointed as the first woman to be appointed manager of a full-service bank in the State of Washington, which position she held until retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Methodist Church and Altrusa Club. She and James Geoghegan were married in Ellensburg on September 18, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1988. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Fred Andrew of Redmond; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Johnnie Mae Geoghegan of Casa Grande, Arizona; a daughter Sharon Green of Darrington; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Bea McCullough and Kenneth and Dorothy McCullough, all of Ellensburg; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dora and Gene Jones of Mt. Vernon; Sadie and Ralph Riegel and Violet and Wally Huppert, also of Ellensburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Bangsberg in 1974 and by two brothers, William and James. McCullough. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 19 at the First United Methodist Church. Family suggests memorials to KVCH Foundation, P. O. Box 1031, Ellensburg or to the Cancer Fund.
