She was born November 10, 1911 in Sykeston, ND, a daughter of John and Margaret (Massey) McCullough. After graduating from high school, she attended college in Valley City, ND, where she received her teaching degree. She taught grades one through eight in a one-room school house in Carrington, ND. Read More	OBIT: Violet Mary Huppert, 85, of Ellensburg, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 1997 at her home. She was born November 10, 1911 in Sykeston, ND, a daughter of John and Margaret (Massey) McCullough. After graduating from high school, she attended college in Valley City, ND, where she received her teaching degree. She taught grades one through eight in a one-room school house in Carrington, ND. Mrs. Huppert came to Ellensburg in 1937, where she met and married Wallace M. Huppert on January 31, 1938. She was a housemother for 12 years for the Elwood Manor Fraternity (in the building where Ken Beckley's office is now located) at Central Washington State College where she took care of the young men attending school there. The young men called her Cookie. Mrs. Hupert was a wondeful mother to five children and a great helpmate to her husband on their arm in Badger Pocket. She was active in St. Andrew's Catholic Church's Altar Society and Quiling Committee. The sewing group help make quilts for the annual church bazaar. She also was the president of the Lourdians Society where she helped with dinners and breakfasts to help raise money for Lourdes Academy. She is survived by her husband, Wallace M. Huppert of Ellensburg; son, Duane and his wife Arlene Huppert of Ellensburg and Wally Huppert of Kennewick; daughters, Sharon Holman of Everett and Carol and her husband Harold Pendell of Gig Harbor; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Sadie and her husband Ralph Riegel of Ellensburg; and brothers, Bob and his wife Bea McCullough and Kenny and his wife Dorothy McCullough. She was preceded in death by her son Darrell J. Huppert, sisters Jeannette Geoghan, Dora Jones, Madge McCullough and brothers Bill and Jim McCullough. Viewing will be held at Steward and Williams Chapel on Wednesday, April 9, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9 a.m until 9 p.m. Rosary will be at St. Andrew's Catholic church on Thursday, Ap;ril 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Mass of christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 11. Monsignor Perron J. Auve will be officiating. Concluding service and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Kittitas Valley Community Hospital, Violet Huppert Memorial Heart Fund, 603 S. Chestnut Street, Ellensburg, WA 98926.
