He was born February 9, 1917 in Carrington, ND to John and Maggie McCullough and came to Ellensburg in 1936. He married Dorothy Plunkett in Walla Walla on May 26, 1944. Kenneth McCullough died May 10, 1998 at Kittitas Valley Rehabilitation Center in Ellensburg. He was born February 9, 1917 in Carrington, ND to John and Maggie McCullough and came to Ellensburg in 1936. He married Dorothy Plunkett in Walla Walla on May 26, 1944. He farmed the greater part of his life in the Ellensburg area and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1970, he became associated with Thayer Realty as a salesman. He developed a plat of 40 acres known as Broadview Acres. Ken was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church and was active in many community activities. He served as chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, was a 14-year rodeo board member, president of Farm Leader's Council, County Planning Commission chairman, town ditch board president, deputy county assessor, Kittitas County Democratic Central Committee chairman, Midstate Coop board director, president Kittitas County Cattleman's Association, president Kittitas County sugar beet growers, served for several years on the Junior Livestock Marketing committee sale at the county fair and was a grange member for more than 50 years, holding several offices including county pomona master and for 20 years was Washington State Grange deputy for Kittitas County. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge, Rebekahs, Noon Kiwanis Club and Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife; brother, Robert (Bea) McCullough; sister, Sadie (Ralph) Riegel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James McCullough, and four sisters, Jeanette McCullough, and four sisters, Jeanette McCullough, and four sisters, Jeanette Geoghegan, Dora Jones, Violet Huppert and Madge McCullough. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell Murphree officiating.. Graveside service will be conducted by the IOOF Lodge at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 14, at the IOOF Cemetery. Those wishing may make contributions to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
